With all the changes that have taken place at Walt Disney World in the last year, it can be difficult to keep up! One of the biggest changes is the implementation of Genie+, Disney’s new “paid FastPass.” If you haven’t heard of Genie+ before or need a refresher, head to my Guide to Disney Genie, where we break down everything from what Genie, Genie+, Lightning Lane and Individual Attraction Selections are, to how to use them and more. Today though, we are going to dive into how to have a great day at Magic Kingdom utilizing Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selections.
The below schedule is just a suggested schedule and may vary based on crowd levels and changes to the Genie+ system. It is also based on being a Disney Resort Guest and utilizing Early Theme Park Entry that is available to Guests staying at any Disney Resort. Always be sure to check waltdisneyworld.com before your visit for any changes that may have been implemented to the Genie+ system and follow me on Instagram and Facebook for all the news!

Magic Kingdom Schedule
7 AM – Purchase an Individual Attraction Selection for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is the most difficult ride to get on at Magic Kingdom and can have wait times that exceed 100 minutes. You can “rope drop” (AKA go there first when the park opens) Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, but you will be amongst a large crowd of people and could still be in a lengthy line. Instead, I suggest purchasing an Individual Attraction Selection for the attraction. This is an additional cost separate and apart from Genie+. (NOTE: If you are not staying at a Disney Resort, you will have to wait until park opening to purchase an Individual Attraction Selection).
7 AM – Use Genie+ to reserve Peter Pan’s Flight. Peter Pan’s Flight may be an older attraction, but the slow loading process and nostalgia of the ride causes it to have long wait times. Grab a reservation using Genie+ at 7 AM to skip the long lines.
8:30 AM/Early Theme Park Entry – The time may vary based on the time of park opening, but be prepared for an early morning. Resort Guests are able to enter the parks a half hour prior to park opening, but should arrive a bit before that so that you can beat the crowds. Once you are in the park, head to Tomorrowland (to the right of the castle when coming down Main Street U.S.A.) and rope drop Space Mountain.
8:45 AM – After getting off of Space Mountain, make your way to Astro Orbiter. This attraction’s wait times will continue to climb as the day goes on due to the lengthy loading process, so it’s a good one to check off your list early.
9 AM – Depending on when you were able to get a Genie+ reservation for Peter Pan’s Flight, you may have to go with the flow a bit here. The goal is to get a reservation to ride Peter Pan’s Flight as early as possible, so that you can then make your next Genie+ reservation. If you have some free time between Astro Orbiter and Peter Pan’s Flight, you can fill in with the Tomorrowland Speedway, Mad Tea Party or Prince Charming Regal Carrousel.
After Riding Peter Pan’s Flight – You will be able to make your next Genie+ reservation once all members of your party have tapped their MagicBand/ticket at Peter Pan’s Flight. At this time, go onto your My Disney Experience App and get a Genie+ reservation for Jungle Cruise.
9:15 AM – Ride Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
9:45 AM – Ride Haunted Mansion (if you have little ones who do not want to ride Haunted Mansion, skip this attraction and head right to it’s a small world instead)
10:20 AM – Ride it’s a small world
10:40 AM – Ride Pirates of the Caribbean and grab a quick snack
11:20 AM – Ride Jungle Cruise (using your Genie+ reservation). If you need to fill in some time, ride the Magic Carpets or explore the Swiss Family Robinson’s Treehouse.
After Riding Jungle Cruise – You will be able to make your next Genie+ reservation once all members of your party have tapped their MagicBand/ticket at Jungle Cruise. At this time, go onto your My Disney Experience App and get a Genie+ reservation for Splash Mountain.
11:45 AM – Get Lunch (Recommendation: Pecos Bills or Casey’s Corner)
12:45 PM – Ride Dumbo
1:20 PM – Use Genie+ to get a reservation for Big Thunder Mountain (NOTE: You are able to make another Genie+ reservation once you have tapped into the attraction you are holding a reservation for or two hours after you made your last reservation – whichever comes first.)
