Just Add Ears – Disney Artist/Creator
Becoming a Disney Artist/Creator
If you’re looking for a reminder of the magic of Disney, head over to Millie’s Instagram account, @justaddears. Millie is a Disney inspired artist and creator who experiments with all different kinds of photography, editing and illustration that will have you swooning! Learn how she continues to perfect her craft and be inspired by Disney.

What kind of Disney content do you create?
I love creating content for Instagram and experimenting with different editing styles. Initially when I started to produce content for @justaddears I was attached to the idea of creating the “perfect feed,” sticking to one specific theme. However, I realised within the first few months of posting that I just couldn’t work with a restricted style, it was just too limiting and boring. I then started to let loose with my ideas, playing around with fashion and flat lays, as well as illustrations and graphics.
The entirety of the pandemic has proved challenging for all of us Disney fans . . . Creating fun Disney content has brought so much joy into my life during a particularly difficult time.
Mille, @justaddears
How did your Disney creator journey begin?
I initially started @justaddears a few years ago, but quickly began to run out of vacation photos from previous Disney trips which left my account unused. However, after lockdown began and we were unable to travel to the parks, I decided to start my account fresh. The entirety of the pandemic has proved challenging for all of us Disney fans, unable to return to the Happiest Place on Earth. Creating fun Disney content has brought so much joy into my life during a particularly difficult time. Not only have I loved experimenting with content, but I have been so lucky in making lots of magical Disney friends whom I can’t wait to meet in the parks one day.

What drew you to the Disney Community?
I have always had a love for Disney and being creative with photography and design. I didn’t realise however how kind, supportive and friendly the online Disney community was until I started to get to know lots of magical creators. When starting @justaddears I was welcomed into this amazing community by so many amazing people and I feel lucky to be a part of it.

Are you a professionally trained artist or self-taught?
I graduated from University last year with a degree in Digital Media. I learned a lot studying for four years and really found my passion for illustration and graphics. I have however, also always loved filming and editing video. This is something I would love to share more of in the future.
How has your art evolved since you began?
Over the last year I’ve spent a lot of time trying to develop my design work, it’s largely been a process of trial and error. Something I always try to do is create different versions of the same design experimenting with various colors and layouts. There is an abundance of creative and talented people on Instagram, I’ve really learnt a lot from them too.

What’s the biggest challenge creating Disney inspired art?
The biggest challenge I have found when creating illustrations is trying to come up with new ideas that stand out and reflect the Disney magic. It’s tough trying to find the balance between creating something you like and are proud of but will also appeal to other people. There are times when I have lots of ideas, but of course I also go through periods when I really struggle to create something, that can definitely be a challenge.
What advice do you have for other Disney Creators?
I myself still have a lot to learn and have found that following other creators has really taught me more about the Instagram platform. My advice would be to try your best not to get caught up in likes and followers. It can be really demotivating, it’s happened to me plenty of times, try to focus on sharing content that you really love and just enjoy being a part of the amazing Disney creator community.

What kind of services do you provide and how would someone hire you?
Creating for other people is something that I really love doing. I’m so grateful that I’ve had so much interest in my services over the past year. I’ve worked on lots of different projects, creating illustrations for Instagram story highlight covers and story templates, in addition to small shop logos and products. I absolutely love meeting new people, so if you’re interested in any of my services you can contact me via email; justaddears@gmail.com or if you just want to chat about any ideas you might have please feel free to DM me on Instagram @justaddears, I love talking about all things design.
Get to Know Millie – Disney Artist/Creator
When did you become a Disney fan? I’ve always loved Disney. I’m sure like lots of other fans I grew up watching the movies, obsessing over Disney Channel shows and have been lucky enough to visit the parks from a young age. Growing up, my home park was Disneyland Paris; it’s a truly beautiful place and I have so many magical memories from childhood summer vacations spent at the park. However, having always been (and still am) obsessed with American culture, it was my dream to visit Walt Disney World. That dream came true in October 2016 and I’ve been in love with the park ever since. I visited the WDW every year up until the pandemic, Disney World is my true home park and I miss it every single day. I can’t wait to walk down Main Street, Mickey treat in hand and gaze up at Cinderella castle once again.

What is your favorite park? This question proved to be the toughest one to answer! After going back and forth, I can’t help but say that I love Magic Kingdom and Epcot equally. Magic Kingdom is pure Disney magic, classic iconic attractions, dreamy soundtracks and it harnesses that special Disney energy that I just can’t describe. Epcot however is such an exciting park. I love exploring my favorite countries (France will always be number one for me, followed by Norway, Japan and Germany) and gazing up at the grand and miraculous Spaceship Earth (especially at night). Future world was always one of my favorite areas, so I’m really excited to see it once construction is complete.
Who is your favorite character? If I had to really think about my all-time favorite character, I always go back to Minnie Mouse. She’s such a classic character and I almost always tear up when I see her in the parks or even in Disney vlogs too.
What is something on your Disney bucket list? I have quite an extensive Disney bucket list, there are so many exciting Disney adventures to be had. At the moment, right at the top of my list is Disneyland. I have always dreamt of seeing Walt’s original park, just being able feel the history, to see what he himself created, it’s truly magical. Another Disney dream is having the opportunity to participate in Disney’s Cultural Representative Programme. It would be a dream of mine to spend an entire year in Orlando, working with fellow Disney lovers, exploring the parks and making new friends.
