Have you heard about Disney’s newest collection, nuiMOs? Disney nuiMOS are posable Disney plush that are also super stylish. These plush measure about 6 inches in height and as of January when they were released in the United States, are available across the world. Right now, the following nuiMO characters are available in the US – Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Stitch, and Angel.
The name “nuiMOs” is a blend of the Japanese words nuigurumi, meaning plush, and moderu, meaning model. Disney nuiMOs plush characters are meant to be an extension of one’s self with the flexibility to change one’s looks to suit their unique personality and taste.

In addition to the posable plush characters that are available, shopDisney also has a ton of clothing that you can purchase for your nuiMO. On the first of each month, Disney will release new items – no one is certain yet if that might include new plush as well as outfits. Japan has several other nuiMOs including Goofy and Max, Chip and Dale, even the Aristocats!
How to Make nuiMO Clothing
If you’re anything like me, you went crazy over nuiMOs and bought one they say they were released. I picked up a Daisy (I just lover her little attitude!) and an outfit for her. Almost instantly, I started to think of all the other outfits she needed for all different occasions – Valentine’s Day, her upcoming trip to Walt Disney World… the options are endless! So, I pulled out my handy-dandy Brother sewing machine and got to work making some outfits.

Make a nuiMO Dress
Today I’ll be walking you through how to sew your nuiMO a dress. Before we get started, be sure to download the FREE PATTERN and get together your supplies.
What You’ll Need:
- Free Pattern
- Fabric
- Velcro
- Thread
- Sewing Machine
- Scissors
Step 1
Print out the FREE PATTERN.
Step 2
Taking your fabric and pattern pieces, cut all pieces. Remember to cut two of the back of the dress and two sleeves.

Step 3
Sew the seams on all pieces using a 1/4 inch seam allowance. Remember not to sew the places where you will sew pieces together (sides, top of shoulders, and arm holes).

Step 4
Lay one side of the back of the dress on the front of the dress with right sides (nice side of the fabric) on top of each other. Sew the top of shoulders. Repeat for the second back of dress piece.

Step 5
Take the sleeve and pin it to the sleeve hole (again right sides of fabric should be against each other). Sew the sleeve.

Step 6
Fold the dress in half and sew the remaining seams, closing the dress. Be sure not to sew the back of the dress together – you will need to add velcro to that later.

Step 7
Turn the dress right-side-out and add velcro to the back side to act as a closer.

Optional Additions
I love this pattern because it is super versatile. I turned it around and added buttons to the front to make it look like a nightgown. I also used Disney nuiMOs DIY’s bow pattern and made a bow to match! She has a bunch of other patterns that are exceptional and I totally recommend!

If you use the pattern please share your dress! Leave a comment or tag me on Instagram @karmankismet!

This is great I love it
So glad to hear it’s being enjoyed by fellow nuiMO fans!
The pants pattern did not go over feet, what is the secret.
These have been so helpful! I’m so glad you shared these patterns 🙂
Thank you so much for the patterns!! They’re really great! Is the pattern available somewhere for the hooded jacket in the picture?
So glad you like them! I haven’t done a pattern for the jacket yet, but can put that one on my list to do!
