This year just about everything has been different, and Christmas at Walt Disney World is no exception. If you’re wondering what you can expect when visiting the Disney Parks during the Holidays, take a look below at all the Walt Disney World 2020 Holiday offerings.
2020 Holiday Celebrations at Walt Disney World
From November 6 through December 30, 2020, Walt Disney World will be celebrating the Holidays with some modified offerings. Below I have listed what you can look forward to in each park:
Magic Kingdom
One of the highlights of the Christmas season at Walt Disney World has long beenMickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the special ticketed nighttime party will not be taking place this year. However, there are still many reasons to visit the park during the holidays.
- Castle Projections – Some added cheer will be projected onto Cinderella’s Castle.
- Themed Character Cavalcades – Mickey Mouse and friends will be joined by the man in red – Santa Claus – to greet visitors daily.
- Holiday Trolley – The Dapper Dans will be added caroling down Main Street U.S.A in the beloved horse-drawn trolley.
- Main Street Philharmonic – The iconic Toy Soldiers will join the Main Street Philharmonic as they march down Main Street U.S.A spreading cheer.
- Seasonal Décor – Holiday decorations can be seen throughout the park.
- Seasonal Treats – Seasonal offerings will be available throughout the park.
I had the chance to see Magic Kingdom on November 2, prior to much of the offerings were available, but the decorations were as beautiful as always! You can check out my experience below.
EPCOT
We’ll all miss the tradition of attending Candlelight Processional this year, but EPCOT is jam-packed with special holiday offerings that you won’t want to miss!
Highlights include:
- Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Holidays – From November 27 to December 30, be sure to visit the Holiday Kitchens throughout the park and also take part in the Holiday Cookie Stroll.
- Santa Claus Promenade – Santa Claus will take a grand tour of the World Showcase in a horse-drawn carriage to greet visitors and wish them a Happy Holiday!
- Mickey and Friends Holiday World Tour – Join Mickey and friends as they tour the World Showcase.
- Frozen Holiday Promenade – Wave at Anna and Elsa as the promenade through the World Showcase.
- New! Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition Scavenger Hunt – Help Olaf find all the items on his scavenger hunt!
- The JAMMitors – Rock out with the JAMMitors at the Mill Stage at the Canada Pavilion.
- JOYFUL! A Celebration of the Season – Inside the World Showplace, you can listen to soulful R&B, Gospel, contemporary and traditional tunes.
- The EPCOT pianist – The EPCOT pianist will perform holiday music on the stage at the World Showplace.
- Voices of Liberty & Mariachi Cobre – The America Gardens Theatre will host several EPCOT favorites, including Voices of Liberty and the Mariachi Cobre, for a myriad of holiday musical performances.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios brings some Hollywood glam to the season with lots of fun!
Highlights include:
- Santa Claus Motorcade – Santa Claus is coming to town in style! Check him and his entourage of Elves out as they head up Hollywood Blvd. in his candy-apple red convertible.
- The Hollywood Holiday Tower Hotel – The Hollywood Tower of Terror Hotel will make a nightly transformation, paying homage to some classic Holiday movies.
- Minnie’s Holiday Dine at Hollywood & Vine – Minnie Mouse invites you to a yuletide dining experience at this popular restaurant.
- For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
- Seasonal Décor – Special festive touches will be seen throughout the park.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Herald holiday flotillas you’ll never forget!
Highlights include:
- Santa Claus Festive Flotilla – Santa Claus will be sailing down Discovery River to a wish visitors Happy Holidays!
- Donald’s Dino Bash Festive Flotilla – Wave to Donald Duck and friends as they make their way down Discovery River.
- Chip & Dale’s Festive Flotilla – Chip ‘n’ Dale bring their own style of festive flair to the park’s waterways, decking the halls down Discovery River.
- Mickey and Friends Festive Flotilla – Wish Mickey Mouse and pals a Merry Christmas as they head downriver on a holiday safari filled with Christmas-time fun.
- Discovery Island Drummers Festive Flotilla – A group of percussionists will be cruising along the Discovery River all season long!
- Tree of Life Awakenings – Holiday Edition, – The Tree of tree will shimmer and sparkle each evening with the spirit of the holidays.
Celebrate the Holidays at Walt Disney World
Even out of the parks, Disney has decked the halls from top to bottom. Each resort is decorated to include a tree that embodies the look and feel of the resort. If you have some time to explore, consider booking a dining reservation at a few resorts so that you can check out their holidays decorations.
Be sure to make a dining reservation because you are unable to visit the resorts if you are not a resort guest or having a dining reservation at this time.
