Countless fashion magazines have shared the “staples” that every wardrobe should have, including a good white t-shirt, a reliable pair of jeans, and a well-made blazer. These pieces can be styled in a multitude of ways to create countless outfits and the same can be done in a “Disney Style” wardrobe with a few different items!

1. Polka Dot Skirt

Minnie Mouse is arguably the biggest Disney style icon there is. With her signature polka dots and feminine accessories, the girl rocks it! When building your Disney Style wardrobe, look for a polka dot skirt that can stand alone and easily be identified as an homage to Minnie, or can be paired with other Disney accessories to get the perfect outfit.
This polka dot skirt is from the Who What Wear collection at Target, but is unfortunately no longer available. Amazon has great options for around $20 each!
2. Minnie Mouse Ears

Minnie Mouse ear headbands have become the epitome of Disney Style. Famous designers, celebrities, and artists are even teaming up with Disney to create a Designer Disney Mouse Ears Collection! The designer pairs are a little steep for the average Disney Style fan, but you can snag a classic pair from ShopDisney.com for just under $30. (TIP: If you are a Disney Visa cardholder you receive 10% off of most purchases online and at the Disney Store)
3. Jacket

Throw on a blazer, or any other kind of jacket, leather, jeans, etc., with any of these pieces listed and you’ve got a whole new look! Blazers are a great way to show off your Disney Style at work. I love dressing up a Disney t-shirt with a skirt and blazer to rock in the boardroom!
4. Black Dress

No matter what kind of wardrobe you are building, the little black dress is a must! It offers the perfect base to work off of, where you can add a Disney scarf, purse, shoes, jewelry, or those adorable Minnie Mouse ears you’re dying to wear!
5. Sneakers

Grab a pair of “fashion” sneakers (think Keds, Converses, etc.) that you can throw on for a more casual look. Sneakers are a great option if you’re planning on spending the day in the parks or will be doing a lot of walking. Plus, if you get a few different colors, you’ll be able to use them when you start DisneyBounding!
6. Jeans

A good pair of jeans are a must have for any wardrobe, but especially a Disney Style wardrobe. Sometimes you’ll want to be a bit more casual and throw on your favorite Disney t-shirt and sneakers. You can also dress up your look with a pair of heels or blazer!
7. White Shirt

A white t-shirt is basically the casual equivalent to the little black dress. It is the base of so many outfits and can be dressed up or down depending on the look you are going for. I love throwing on a white t-shirt under a pair of overalls during the day and then switching it up by changing into a pair of black pants and heels with a Disney clutch for the nighttime!
8. Mickey Shirt

There are so many awesome Mickey shirts out there that the options are basically endless! If you live in colder weather like I do for most of the year, a Mickey Mouse sweater is a great option. Of course, you can always go classic and get a Mickey Mouse t-shirt!
9. Disney Scarf/Bandana

I’m a big believer that any outfit can be “Disneyfied” with a few essentials. One of those are Disney scarves! Scarves can be added to a bag, worn around your neck, in your hair, or used as a belt (depending on the length of course!) and won’t break the bank!
10. Basic Tanks

Sometimes your statement piece isn’t your top or bottom, but rather your accessories. I love wearing a plain white tank and a bright bottom to show off my Disney purses, scarves, jewelry, or whatever I might be wearing that day!
These pieces will help you start to build your Disney Style wardrobe and hopefully won’t break the bank! I love buying Disney accessories, so I try to be frugal when it comes to other pieces. Are you the same? Let me know if there are any pieces that you would add to the list below!
So many great tips! I need to get a few Disney inspired purses or make some before our trip.
Love the idea of some DIY Disney bags! You’ll have to share what you make!
How about a jeans jacket? Obviously it can be plain to pair with other Disney inspired fashion items or it can be “Disneyfied” by painting, embroidering (either hand or machine) or adding some vintage Disney pins/brooches!
