I am lucky enough to have grown up visiting the Disney parks at least once per year. As I got older, the number of times I visited Walt Disney World and Disneyland each year increased, but one thing never changed – the feeling I got when I had to leave.
On the last day of every trip I have a sinking feeling in my stomach as I think of returning to the “real world” where people don’t wish me a magical day, coffee is not served in a cup with Mickey Mouse balloons on it, and there is no uplifting area music being played as I walk to work.
In order to pay for all my Disney adventures though, I have to go back to the real world. But, why do I have to leave the magic behind?
Welcome to karma&kismet’s Bringing Home the Magic!
Cue Disney’s Main Street Philharmonic band, because you and I are going to find ways that we can bring a little bit of Disney magic into our every day lives!
I’ve learned a few tricks over the years to keep the Pixie Dust flowing, but I am always searching for new ways and I hope you will share yours with me too!
I am looking forward to writing about some Disney inspired crafts, home decor, style, music, movies, places to visit in your backyard, food, and more that keep me going to my next Disney adventure.
So how does this relate to karma&kismet, a store that sells art prints, greeting cards, wedding invitations, and more, you ask?
I started karma&kismet during a time that I desperately needed a little Disney magic. I had just been diagnosed with a medical issue that turned my life upside down and was searching for a way to bring some comfort and positivity into my life. Visiting a Disney park was not an option, so I had to figure out another way.
Two of the things I love most in the world are Disney and art. Through a trying time, I turned to something that encapsulated both – karma&kismet.
karma&kismet was started as a way for me to bring home some Disney magic to myself, but over time it has grown into something bigger.
Each design I create for karma&kismet is inspired by the feeling I have when I am walking down Main Street U.S.A., eating a Dole Whip, or watching Illuminations at EPCOT. I am overjoyed when someone comments on an Instagram post of a new item, tags a friend, or when I get to send out an order. It isn’t because I just sold a piece, but because I am getting to do what I love most in the world – helping someone to bring home the magic.
So, Bringing Home the Magic is really what karma&kismet is all about. I’m just trying to design a life with Mickey Bars and Pixie Dust and I hope you’ll come along for the ride!
